Jeep Cherokee vs Jeep Compass: Engine

Jeep CompassThe foundation of the vehicle you choose is the engine and the performance you get. In a Jeep, this will determine just how far you can go and what you are capable of on any road or in your adventures off-road.

The Jeep Cherokee provides three engine options that can help you achieve whatever you need. It comes with a standard 2.4L I-4 engine that gets 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque and has a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. There is also an available 2.0L Turbo engine that gets 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque with a maximum towing capacity of 4,000 pounds. Finally, there is the 3.2L Pentastar® engine that gets 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque and a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds.

In the Jeep Compass, you only have one engine option: the standard 2.4L Tigershark® MultiAir® 2 that gets 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque and also has a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. This can certainly be a capable vehicle but doesn’t offer the same options that the Jeep Cherokee provides.

Jeep Cherokee vs Jeep Compass: Interior

There are certainly similarities to these vehicles when it comes to the interior space. One of the most notable is that both the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Compass hold the same number of passengers with a seating capacity for five.

Once inside, however, the Jeep Cherokee shows off much more notable size. It has a passenger volume of 128 cubic feet compared to 100 cubic feet in the Jeep Compass.

This allows for greater rear dimensions, such as the 40.3 inches of legroom for rear passengers. Compare this to the 38.3 inches of rear legroom available in the Jeep Compass.

Jeep Cherokee vs Jeep Compass: Technology

Jeep CompassWhen it comes to technology, drivers love to stay connected. In both the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Compass, you can take advantage of a system that delivers.

Uconnect® infotainment technology comes with an available 8.4-inch touchscreen as well as standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. This allows you to get access to all of the resources you need the most on your drive, ranging from music and streaming to navigation to phone calls and text messages.
