Charger Performance
The Charger comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 262 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. From there, you can upgrade to the 3.6-liter V6 that makes 300 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque, or one of two V8 options that make between 370 horsepower and 485 horsepower. The Charger also offers two high-output supercharged V8 engines that make between 717 horsepower and 797 horsepower and between 650 lb-ft of torque and 707 lb-ft of torque.
Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available. All engines mate to a slick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. You can add packages and features that enhance the performance, such as Brembo brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, and 20-inch wheels.
Charger Interior
The Charger offers seating for five people in two rows of seats. Passengers have ample headroom and legroom and comfortable, well-cushioned seats. Cloth upholstery is standard, but leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, a sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control are available to improve the look and feel of the cabin.
The trunk of the Charger boasts 16.5 cubic feet of space, which is above average for the class. If you need more space, the rear seats fold flat for use of the whole back of the cabin. Passengers have plenty of pockets and cubbies to stow phones and keys.
Charger Technology
The Charger comes with a user-friendly infotainment system that offers simple menus, sharp graphics, and a straightforward layout. Physical knobs and buttons are available for adjusting the sound volume or climate control. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, but you can upgrade to an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other features include satellite radio, Alpine® audio, HD radio, navigation, and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, which connects with your phone for on-the-go entertainment.
Several safety features are included for the Charger, such as rear parking sensors and a rearview camera. You can add advanced safety features, such as lane-departure warning, a feature that cautions you if you wander from your lane on the highway, and automatic emergency braking. A forward-collision warning is also available, which alerts you to potential frontal collisions and automatically applies the brakes. Other features include rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring, a set of features that warns you if there’s a vehicle or pedestrian in your way when moving lanes or backing up.
